Paubas are traditional paintings on cloth created basically by the Chitrakar caste and also by few members of Vajracharya caste of the Kathmandu Valley in Nepal. Thankas are the Tibetan version of the Paubas. The word "Paubha" is related to Sanskrit "Pata or Patra" (scroll) upon which the painting is done.
