Paul Herscu
Paul Herscu (born May 5, 1959) is an American naturopathic doctor and biomedical researcher. In 2008 he established Herscu Laboratory,[1] a multi-disciplinary non-profit medical research center focused on integrating diverse fields of medical and biological science, as well as public health and education. He is also a founder of the companies Personalized Pharmaceutical Systems[2] and Whewell Biosciences.
Through these organizations, he has pursued research on angioedema diagnosis and differentiation, ADHD subpopulation and treatment response research, influenza treatment studies and public health readiness in alternative medicine, and drug discovery and development.
Herscu was born in Bucharest, Romania. He and his family moved to Israel in 1961, and relocated to the United States in 1969. Herscu was naturalised in 1975 and was granted an ND in 1986 from the National College of Naturopathic Medicine.
In the late 1980s, Herscu helped to revitalize and recreate the Homeopathic Academy of Naturopathic Physicians. In 1989, he and his wife Amy Rothenberg founded the New England School of Homeopathy. In 1991, he began publishing the New England Journal of Homeopathy. Herscu teaches at a number of leading schools of homeopathy around the world and maintains a private practice in Enfield, Connecticut. His most notable contribution in homeopathy is the development of the analytical method called "Cycles and Segments".[3][4] Herscu's major influences have been Samuel Hahnemann, James Tyler Kent, Baron Clemens Maria Franz von Boenninghausen, Constantine Hering, and Adolf von Lippe.[5]
Herscu has written several books, and has published articles in major peer-reviewed medical journals.
