Paulo Sérgio Cardoso da Costa (born 5 December, 1979) is a Portuguese footballer who plays as attacking midfielder for Levadiakos.

He played at top division of Portugal, Italy, France, Greece and Cyprus.

[edit] Biography

His career started at SC Lourinhanense, in 1999 he joined FC Alverca, where he met Marco Caneira. In summer 2000, both of them was signed by Internazionale but farmed to Reggina in co-ownership deal.[1] He then joined F.C. Porto but in August 2002 loaned to Venezia. In July 2003, he re-joined Caneira at Bordeaux.[2] In next season he played for Gil Vicente F.C.

Aris Thessaloniki started the 2005–06 second division season in poor fashion, but improved their game and results under Nikos Anastopoulos, as Costa arrived during the January transfer window. Paulo Costa adapted quickly at Aris, becoming a starter and forming a successful attacking partnership with Spaniard Koke. Aris regained top-flight status, and finished fourth in 2006–07.

In August 2007, he started a Cypriot adventure, as many Portuguese players have in recent years, by joining Aris Limassol. On January 3 2008, he signed a three and a half year contract with Anorthosis Famagusta.[citation needed] On December 28 2008, he signed a six-month contract with APOEL. On March 13 2009 his contract was broken after mutual content with the team.[3]

In August 2009, he signed a 2-year contract with Levadiakos.[4]
