The Permaculture Association is a British education & research charity that promotes the theory and practice of permaculture in the UK and beyond. It is a partner in the Local Food consortium[1] of the Big Lottery Fund's Changing Spaces programme.[2]

The Permaculture Association was established as a charity on February 8, 1983.[3]

According to its website, the Association offers its members a range of services including a quarterly newsletter, various discounts for events, books and services, opportunities to network, promotion & support of projects and a telephone helpline.[4] It also certifies Permaculture Design Courses in the UK and runs a diploma programme[5]
The Association organises a biennial national gathering of members, known as a 'convergence'.[6]
The Association also supports international projects such as the Permaculture Institute of El Salvador.[7][8]
