PhreeBooks accounting program was developed as a free and open source web-based Enterprise resource planning (ERP) application.[1] The program is written in the PHP scripting language with a MySQL database engine. The objective is to provide the small-business community with a multi-language end-to-end enterprise management tool to run in an Internet environment. PhreeBooks is intended to provide a no-cost solution for small business concerns. PhreeBooks is platform independent, browser independent, and can be translated into many languages.
The PhreeBooks accounting engine has recently been expanded into Phreedom, a small business solution.
Phreedom is a modular toolkit for small businesses based on the PhreeBooks accounting engine. The project is sponsored by PhreeSoft, LLC which is responsible for lead code development and project management. Features include, full double entry accounting, complete inventory management, project cost tracking, CRM, Shipping and payment interfaces to major services, manufacturing process control and more.
Phreedom is currently available for demo. [2] This is a fully functioning version of the software with all core modules installed and a few add-on modules.
