Metro plans to add gates and flashing lights at this station, as part of a set of safety enhancements that have been added to the Expo Line project.[3]
[edit] History
The station opened on July 14, 1990, on opening day of the Blue Line. On that day, the Flower Street Tunnel and 7th St/Metro Center Station were still under construction. Thus, Pico Station was the northern terminus for the Blue Line until completion of the Flower Street Tunnel and 7th St/Metro Center Station in February 1991.[4]
