Change "ls -l produces a process" to "The command ls -l is executed in a process" because "produces" isn't clear (also helps with the formatting -- starting a paragraph with <code> looks bad, especially after a code block). undo

It's true that a running pipeline is composed of processes (rather than programs), however in shell syntax the substrings between the "|" are program names / commands and it is incorrect to use "process" for those substrings. Note that there is an earlier link to the Process (computing) article which explains the difference. undo

It's a nice example which originates from the creation of this page. Also several small fixes. I'm not restoring the simple example removed by Ormaaj in Revision 474808569 because a similar example was later added to the intro. undo
