Pixar Short Films Collection – Volume 1 is a DVD and Blu-ray title released by Walt Disney Home Entertainment that shows all of Pixar's short works from 1986 to 2006, plus an early short from when Pixar was still the computer department at Lucasfilm.

- "The Pixar Shorts: A Short History" - a 23-minute documentary on the beginning of Pixar and its first short films. Included are interviews with John Lasseter, Eben Ostby, Ed Catmull, Alvy Ray Smith, William Reeves and more.
- A series of four rarely seen Pixar shorts produced for Sesame Street. They are "Surprise", "Light & Heavy", "Up and Down" and "Front and Back". They feature the characters from Luxo Jr..
- The Japanese version also included "The Pixar Story", a documentary by Leslie Iwerks.

- Luxo Jr. pencil tests - Easter egg accessible under the "Boundin'" icon on the "Short Films" page.
- "Flags and Waves", a short film made by William Reeves and Alain Fournier in 1986 to test the features of computer animation. This easter egg can be found by pressing on the right button on your DVD remote when the "English" selection on the Audio Options page is selected.
- "Beach Chair", a short film made by Eben Ostby in 1986 to test the features of computer animation. This easter egg can be seen by selecting a hidden icon above the "English for the Hearing Impaired" selection on the Subtitles page.

On the Blu-ray version, all the above Easter-Eggs can be accessed by scrolling through the list of short films using the up button on the remote (rather than the left or right buttons).
- A Luxo lamp icon appears over "Red's Dream" to access the 'Luxo Jr. wireframe tests'.
- A flag icon appears above "Tin Toy" to access "Flags and Waves"
- A chair icon appears above "Geri's game" to access "Beach Chair"
