Planet Cazmo is a Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game involving a virtual world containing a range of online games and activities, developed by Planet Cazmo, LLC (in affiliation with Pileated Pictures). Players use 3D avatars and the virtual world is set on an alien planet. The game beta tested November 3, 2007, through December 12, 2008. While regular game play is free, revenue is predominantly raised through paid memberships which allow players to access a range of additional features, (such as the ability to purchase exclusive virtual clothing, furniture, and in-game pets for their character through the use of in-game currency). A major focus of the developers and of the game Moderators has been on child safety, with a number of features introduced to the game to facilitate this — including offering a "Safe Chat" mode, whereby users select their comments from a menu; filtering that prevents swearing and the revelation of personal information; and moderators (along with ambassadors) who patrol the game to ensure safety.

In 2009, the company signed with Tommy Mottola's Mottola Co. to produce concerts in the game's virtual environment.[1]

[edit] Ambassadors(PCAP)

PCAP is an acronym for "Planet Cazmo Ambassador Program." Ambassadors are players who have been selected by Planet Cazmo's "Chief Ambassador" and other staff for extraordinary help towards the game, such as; advertising the game on "blogs" and other websites in order to promote the game and draw visitor's attention to it. This is known as "Spreading the World." Also they are experienced players who know a lot of the game and help to patrol around the virtual world.

There are 3 types of ambassador. The first is "Normal Ambassador." They are the lowest rank of ambassador. Normal Ambassadors have a purple ambassador hat and an ambassador speech bubble for their character. The second rank is "Silver Ambassador." Silver ambassadors are the experienced ambassadors who continue to help promote the virtual world. They wear a silver ambassador hat. The final rank is "Gold Ambassador." Gold ambassadors are long-standing ambassadors who also continue with their extraordinary help towards the game.

Ambassadors have certain benefits such as; all ambassadors can send out "Planet Cazmo Gift Reward Center" gifts. A PCGRC gift is given to a player by an ambassador for a random act of kindness. The gift can be any item of clothing for the player's character. Ambassadors can also send a report directly to a game Moderator for any activity that is against the rules of Planet Cazmo. If a player consists on disobeying the rules, Gold Circle Ambassadors can temporarily kick the player from the server. Only the most trusted ambassadors who have proved they can handle these powers are given the title of gold ambassador to ensure that this power is not abused. If it ever was, a moderator of the game would be able to check the chat log at the time and assess if the kick was appropriate.

[edit] Moderators

A Moderator can be identified by a round red badge on their player card. If someone claims to be a Moderator and does not have the red badge on their player card they are not a Moderator. Moderators will never ask for your password or personal information.[2] -ModT0m3y (talk)

Moderators on Planet Cazmo are workers of the game. They help to patrol around the game ensuring child safety and helping new users learn how to play. The team of moderators work at the Planet Cazmo headquarters. Moderators often log in to the public servers where they discuss ideas with players, take feedback of recent parties and generally talk to everyone. Moderators have benefits such as; being able to kick a player from the server, banning players temporarily (or for an extended period of time if deemed appropriate), and muting players. These powers are rarely used and are only used on those players that consistently insult other players or break any of the other rules.[2]

[edit] Updates

Planet Cazmo usually updates every Friday. Updates can be from a concert update to just new items in the Clothing Shop. The latest update is that Planet Cazmo will soon be launching a new game on mocospace.com called "Planet Cazmo Monster Pet Battle" that will be released soon and can be played on mobile phones and devices.[2]

[edit] Concerts

Cazmo features concerts which include a variety of different singers. Including, Jay Sean, Shakira, B.o.B, Jason Derulo and Soulja Boy. At concerts, friends can hang out with each other, listen to the artist's music, and watch the artist's virtual character perform on stage. When there is a concert, the concert plays every hour on the hour from 7:00 EST that Friday until Midnight the Saturday thereafter. Soulja Boy's avatar has been seen roaming around the game, communicating with fans. This is not a programmed avatar but is in fact the actual artist!

[edit] Mini-games

Planet Cazmo has many mini-games within it that will earn you CazmoCoinz when you play them. The better you perform on the mimi-game, the more CazmoCoinz you earn. There is currently one multiplayer mini-game called Tic-Tac-Yo, which is basically Tic-Tac-Toe. Most Cazmos will use Phrux's Goalie Showdown to earn more CazmoCoinz.[2] -ModT0m3y (talk)

[edit] Energy Beta

The Energy Beta is a test of a new way for users to compete against everyone else to see who can get a higher level on Planet Cazmo. This is mainly for those that use Facebook to play Planet Cazmo. You slowly gain energy as you spend time on Cazmo, and you gain experience to level up by performing actions on Planet Cazmo such as taking a seat at the Cazmo Club or playing volleyball on the beach. Doing these actions gives you experience but takes away from your energy. Levels allow you to buy certain things on Planet Cazmo that have been limited to only users that meet that level requirement, so the higher the level you are the more things you are able to buy.[2] -ModT0m3y (talk)
