[edit] Role in SpongeBob SquarePants
Plankton is a small plankton (based possibly on the copepod), is rather aggressive and has two antennae and one eye.( Though in a recent episode he gains another, but decides to get rid of it) He is the main antagonist of the series and Eugene Krabs's arch rival, though the two were once best friends, as revealed in "Krabs vs. Plankton" and later explained in "Friend or Foe?". He operates a struggling restaurant called the Chum Bucket across the street from the Krusty Krab. His primary goal in the series is to steal the Krabby Patty secret formula and drive Mr. Krabs out of business. SpongeBob has also had a few temporary friendships with Plankton, such as in "F.U.N.", when Plankton learns what fun is. Plankton is afraid of whales, enough to go insane. This is because a pod of whales ate his ancestors.
Plankton has a computerized companion known as a "Wired Integrated Female Electroencephalograph," which abbreviates to the acronym "WIFE." Karen apparently has a mind of her own, to the point of making fun of her "husband." She usually gives him ideas which he often censors out and takes them as his.
A few episodes ahead, Plankton created a Robot Spongebob to do his dirty work, however, he does not appear in many episodes. But he does in the game Spongebob Squarepants: The Movie, it takes place on when Plankton steals King Neptune's crown, and he blames it on Mr. Krabs. He first appeared in the episode of the same name.
[edit] Family
Plankton has a large, extended family, containing 10,000+ members of different forms of plankton, most of whom are supposedly from Texas and a character that people might consider hillbillies. It is from them that the audience learns his full name, Sheldon J. Plankton. He is also married to his super computer wife, Karen.
[edit] Robo-Plankton
In Spongebob Squarepants: Battle for Bikini Bottom, he tries to overtake The town by making Robots with his Dulpicatron 5000. But backfires when he didn't set it to Obey. At the end of the game when the player defeats SpongeBot SquareShiftpants (the name in which he said in the episode Welcome to the Chum Bucket), a Robot protraying as Plankton (who is possibly smarter) on a little hovering machine with a small sonic ray gun comes out and tries to stop Spongebob from destroying his robot-self.
