Planning Policy Guidance Notes
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
In the United Kingdom, Planning Policy Guidance Notes (PPG) are statements of the Government's national policy and principles towards certain aspects of the town planning framework. They apply to England only. They are legally binding and may be treated as material considerations in the determination of planning applications.
Under the provisions of the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004, they are gradually being replaced by Planning Policy Statements (PPS).
The remaining PPGs in force are:
- Planning Policy Guidance 2: Green Belts PPG2
- Planning Policy Guidance 8: Telecommunications PPG8
- Planning Policy Guidance 13: Transport PPG13
- Planning Policy Guidance 14: Development on Unstable Land PPG14
- Planning Policy Guidance 17: Planning for Open Space, Sport and Recreation PPG17
- Planning Policy Guidance 18: Enforcing Planning Control PPG18
- Planning Policy Guidance 19: Outdoor Advertisement Control PPG19
- Planning Policy Guidance 20: Coastal Planning PPG20
- Planning Policy Guidance 24: Planning and Noise PPG24
