Plaza Côte-des-Neiges

The Plaza Côte-des-Neiges is a mid-size two stories mall located in the Côte-des-Neiges–Notre-Dame-de-Grâce borough of Montreal, Quebec, Canada and constructed in 1968. It is operated by Gestion Plaza Cote-des-Neiges which has its headquarters in the office building adjacent to the mall.

The Plaza has over 100 stores, including: Zellers, Canadian Tire, Caplan Duval, Dollarama, Bell, and The Source. It offers services, including a medical clinic, a dental clinic, day care centre, a Ciné Starz movie theatre (formerly Fortune Cinemas & originally Cineplex Odeon), and many restaurants. Many of the mall's tenants are small independent businesses. There is indoor and outdoor parking for up to 1,000 vehicles. In front of the Plaza is a sculpture called "Trialogue" by Hans Schleeh.

History

In 1986, the Miracle Mart store was not rebranded as a M store and closed its doors. The space is now occupied by Zellers and Canadian Tire. In 1991, the Steinberg was converted to Xtra, the new discount supermarket of the chain at the time. In 1992, when the company went bankrupt, the space has been bought to Provigo and became a Héritage in 1993. After being Héritage, it became Maxi in 1995. A Wise store was in the basement of mall until 1995 and was later occupied by a Meubles en Gros furniture store. In mid 2000s the Maxi has moved to a nearby new location to become Maxi & cie hypermarket and its former space in the mall is now occupied by a fruits store and a book store.

Following the acquisition of Zellers by Target Canada, the store at Plaza Côte-des-Neiges is scheduled to transition to a Walmart store around 2013.

Access

The closest metro stations are Plamondon and Côte-des-Neiges. Also nearby is the Mont-Royal train station.
