- Johannes Hevelius - an outstanding astronomer who published the earliest exact maps of the moon and the most complete catalog of his time containing: 1,564 stars. The first to conceive the possibility of a multiple-stage rocket and of rocket batteries.
- Jan Brozek - Contributed to a greater knowledge of Copernicus theories. The most prominent Polish mathematician of the 17th century.
