Polvijärvi is a municipality of Finland.

It is located in the province of Eastern Finland and is part of the North Karelia region. The municipality has a population of 4,772 (31 January 2012)[2] and covers an area of 958.35 square kilometres (370.02 sq mi) of which 154.22 km2 (59.54 sq mi) is water.[1] The population density is 5.93 inhabitants per square kilometre (15.4 /sq mi).

The municipality is unilingually Finnish.
