Introduced in March 2006 by Thomas Marban the site created a new trend in so called Single Page Aggregators and serves as a case study for Web Syndication. PopUrls was included as number five in Time Magazine's list of the top 50 websites of 2009.[1]
PopUrls was acquired by Idealab in July 2010 for an undisclosed amount.
