Backstreet Boys

The Backstreet Boys (sometimes referred to as BSB) are an American vocal group, formed in Orlando, Florida in 1993. The group consists of A. J. McLean, Howie Dorough, Brian Littrell, Nick Carter, and Kevin Richardson. They rose to fame with their debut international album, Backstreet Boys (1996), and to world superstardom with their album Millennium (1999) and its follow-up album, Black & Blue (2000).

After a two-year hiatus, they regrouped and released their comeback album Never Gone (2005). Richardson left the group in 2006, several months after the conclusion of the Never Gone tour to pursue other interests. The group then recorded and released two albums as a four-piece: Unbreakable (2007) and This Is Us (2009).

In 2011, the group co-headlined the NKOTBSB Tour with New Kids on the Block, and in 2012 Richardson rejoined them right after they finished the tour. As of July 2012, all members of the group are living together working on their new album in London.

The Backstreet Boys have sold over 130 million records worldwide, making them the best-selling boy band of all time, and one of the world's best-selling music artists. According to Billboard, they are the first group since Sade to have their first seven albums reach the top 10 on the Billboard 200.

Into the Millennium Tour was a world concert tour by the Backstreet Boys in support of their 1999 album, Millennium. The tour comprised 115 sold-out shows in 84 cities spanning three legs.[1] The North American legs featured concerts at arenas and stadiums and it became the fastest grossing tour of all time.

The first leg of the tour was a European leg, which ran from June 2 - August 7, 1999 and featured more than 40 concerts in over 30 cities and 13 countries. The first leg of the North American tour initially sold 53 dates (40 announced and 13 added due to demand) in 39 cities, scheduled to run from September 14 - December 2, 1999. The entire leg sold out on the August 14 onsale date. The reported 765,000 tickets grossed sales estimated at $30 million, with face values set at $28.50 and $38.50. Putting the entire tour onsale on one morning was an unusual sales method which allowed the onsale to become an event and resulted in broken sales records. A majority of the tickets sold out within the first hour of the sale, and several venues set records for sell-out speed. After adding several additional shows, the leg ultimately comprised 56 shows with some venues hosting three consecutive shows. As a result of Hurricane Floyd, which was approaching Florida, the band was forced to postpone the first two tour dates from September 14 and 15 to December 5 and 6. The concert at Georgia Dome, Atlanta, was the 5th most attended concert in American history and the most attended concert by a pop artist.

Nick Carter.JPG

Nickolas Gene "Nick" Carter is an American singer-songwriter, dancer, musician, entertainer and actor. He is best known as a member of the vocal group Backstreet Boys. He gained fame in the late 1990s and early 2000s as a teen idol. In 2002, during the group's hiatus, he released a solo album called Now Or Never. He has made occasional television appearances and starred in his own reality show, House of Carters in 2006. He is also the older brother of singer Aaron Carter.

Carter was born on January 28, 1980 in Jamestown, New York to Robert Gene Carter and Jane Elizabeth (née Spaulding). His parents owned a bar called the Yankee Rebel there. Several years later, the family moved to Ruskin, Florida and managed a retirement home, Garden Villa Retirement Home, where they added his younger siblings to their family.

He joined a vocal group that would be the Backstreet Boys in 1992 when he was only 12. He was arguably the most popular member when the group reached its world stardom in 1999-2000. In 2011 he released his second solo album, titled I'm Taking Off.
