Metro Detroit vs Detroit[edit]

I've looked at a variety of major city portals and all of them are simply called the city name and are naturally implied to include the metro area. We should probably change our name to fit this format. PeRshGo (talk) 17:16, 25 May 2010 (UTC)

Metro Detroit is fine and appropriately incorporates the portal. For example, San Francisco Bay Area portal and Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex portal also use the metro name.Thomas Paine1776 (talk) 16:17, 9 June 2010 (UTC)

I've moved the following content here from Portal:Metro Detroit/Contributors, which was posted the portal's main page, as it doesn't directly pertain to Detroit. Northamerica1000(talk) 04:36, 19 November 2013 (UTC)
