The Portuguese Rink Hockey Championship is the premier Rink Hockey league in Portugal. It was found in 1938 and the first champion was Sporting CP. It is held every year since then with the seasons of 1962/63 and 1963/64 being conquested as Taça de Portugal (Cup of Portugal) due to lack of agreement between the associations to create a new format for the championship. Currently, they are 16 teams playing in the championship. The first four of them qualify to the European League and the 5th positioned qualify to the CERS Cup. The last four teams are relegated to the Second Division. SL Benfica is the most succefull team having won 21 titles, althoug FC Porto is coming close having won 10 titles in a row in a total of 20 titles.
