Pratica di Mare Air Force Base (ICAO: LIRE) is an Italian Air Force installation southwest of Rome, Italy. It was built in 1937, and in 1957 it was named after Colonnello Mario de Bernardi. It is the biggest Italian Air force base. A particular detail is that the base is located 25 km (16 mi) far from the village of Pratica di Mare, a middle age style very small town, which is built on the old acropolis of Lavinium.
