Preston Township is a township in Wayne County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 1,014 at the 2010 census.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 51.5 square miles (133.4 km²), of which, 49.4 square miles (128 km²) of it is land and 2.1 square miles (5.0 km²) of it (4.08%) is water.

As of the census[1] of 2010, there were 1,014 people, 439 households, and 292 families residing in the township. The population density was 20.5 people per square mile (7.9/km²). There were 983 housing units at an average density of 19.9/sq mi (7.8/km²). The racial makeup of the township was 98.6% White, 0.1% Native American, 0.4% Asian, and 0.9% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.5% of the population.
There were 439 households out of which 20% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 56.7% were married couples living together, 6.2% had a female householder with no husband present, and 33.5% were non-families. 27.8% of all households were made up of individuals and 10.4% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.31 and the average family size was 2.81.
In the township the population was spread out with 17.8% under the age of 18, 62.7% from 18 to 64, and 19.5% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 48 years.
The median income for a household in the township was $46,094, and the median income for a family was $53,917. Males had a median income of $32,417 versus $38,083 for females. The per capita income for the township was $20,431. About 9.9% of families and 15.7% of the population were below the poverty line, including 23.1% of those under age 18 and 11.9% of those age 65 or over.
