All of her grandparents and great-grandparents are royal or noble; she descends from the Austrian, Belgian, Italian, Swedish, French, Danish, British, Portuguese, Spanish and German royal families. Through her maternal grandmother Queen Paola she also descends from a number of prominent Italian noble families.

She has two older brothers, Amedeo (b. 1986) and Joachim (b. 1991), who is also her godfather, and two older sisters: Maria Laura (b. 1988) and Luisa Maria (b. 1995).
