Psychology of Music is a peer-reviewed academic journal that publishes papers in the field of Psychology. The journal's editor is Alexandra Lamont (Keele University). It has been in publication since 1973 and is currently published by SAGE Publications on behalf of the Society for Education, Music and Psychology Research (SEMPRE).

Scope[edit]

Psychology of Music includes studies on describing, learning, and teaching, as well as applied social, developmental, attitudinal and therapeutic studies. The journal aims to increase the understanding of any psychological aspect of music.

Psychology of Music is abstracted and indexed in, among other databases: SCOPUS, and the Social Sciences Citation Index. According to the Journal Citation Reports, its 2010 impact factor is 1.182, ranking it 96 out of 304 journals in the category ‘Economics’.[1] and 33 out of 129 journals in the category ‘Sociology’.
