The Punjab Institute of Computer Science (PICS) is a computer college of University of Central Punjab. It is situated in Gulberg, Lahore, Pakistan.

  • 1985 - Islamic Commerce Educational Society established the Punjab College of Commerce.
  • 1991 - The Punjab College of Business Administration (PCBA)
  • 1993 - Punjab Institute of Computer Science (PICS) in 1993
  • 1999 - University of Central Punjab was chartered


Mian Amir Mahmood, owner of the Punjab Group of Colleges, after establishing the Punjab Law College and a chain of Punjab Commerce Colleges ventured into Computer Sciences and setup the Punjab Institute of Computer Sciences. The first campus of PICS was situated on Main Boulevard, Gulberg. It was one of the most prestigious computer science institutes during the early to mid 90's mainly due to its world class faculty, curriculum and facilities dedicated to computer science education.
