[edit] Fictional character biography
Little is known of the past of the mutant known as REM-RAM apart from that he is from Antwerp in Belgium[1]. He is discovered by Fabian Cortez, who manipulates the boy into joining the Acolytes[2]. REM-RAM is manipulated into using his powers against the X-Men specifically Xavier. Xavier's natural telepathy makes him resistant to REM-RAM's powers. His dreams are not affected directly, only altered slightly.[volume & issue needed]
However, Fabian boosts REM-RAM's powers and he, Xavier and the X-Men all become linked. This awakens Xaiver to the nature of the situation. The X-Men are directed to fight the Acolytes. During the confrontation, REM-RAM is again ordered to attack Xaiver. He does not wish to, fearing the pain that would result. In anger, Cortez attacks REM-RAM, calling him a traitor. Rogue saves REM-RAM.[volume & issue needed]
Some of the Acolytes ask for asylum, which Xavier refuses.[volume & issue needed]
[edit] Genosha/The Collective
REM-RAM later moves to the mutant-haven island of Genosha. Cassandra Nova, the genetic twin of Professor Charles Xavier, uses a skyscraper-sized Sentinel to attack the island. Sixteen million people, including REM-RAM, die that day.[volume & issue needed]
The Collective, a mysterious being with dozens of super-powers itself, is being hunted by the New Avengers. They come to Genosha on their search and encounter zombies, including REM-RAM's reanimated form.[volume & issue needed]
[edit] Necrosha
REM-RAM is resurrected once again, this time by the techno-organic virus wielded by Eli Bard when he causes a mass resurrection on the island during the Necrosha event.[3]
[edit] Powers and abilities
REM-RAM was able to expand the subconscious mind of those around him, sending them into a dream state where he can scan and manipulate the repressed thoughts found in their minds.
