This train was started in 1997 to facilitate the transportation of passengers from Mumbai to Patna. When it began, the train ran only on Tuesdays, and only from LTT to PNBE. When the Rajendranagar Terminal was inaugurated in 2003, service was extended from PNBE to RJPB. In 2009, the train line was again extended from LTT TO CSTM, therefore running from CSTM TO RJPB. The Pantry Food is GOOD in the morning & the lunch is also GOOD but the dinner is the BEST.
This train has 24 coaches consisting of ONE AC First CUM AC 2 TIER(with effect from 3rd Nov 2012 for Patna Going Passengers and from 5th Nov 2012 for Mumbai Going Passengers),ONE 2 AC TIER,TWO 3 AC TIER, 1 PANTRY CAR, 5 NON RESERVED SECOND CLASS, 12 SLEEPER CLASS and 2 brake vans.The format is as follows-
From CSTM to Igatpuri, this train is hauled by a WCAM-3 KYN(Kalyan Shed) locomotive. Until arrival at Itarsi it is carried by either WAP 4 ET(Itarsi Shed)or WAP 4 BSL(Bhusawal Shed) . From Itarsi till Rajendranagar Terminal, this train is carried by two WDM-3A locomotives of Itarsi Diesel Loco Shed.
