Rajnagar is a town and a nagar panchayat in Chhatarpur district in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh. It is 4 km from Khajuraho.

Geography[edit]

Rajnagar is located at 24°53′N 79°55′E / 24.88°N 79.92°E / 24.88; 79.92.[1] It has an average elevation of 273 metres (895 feet).

Demographics[edit]

As of 2001 India census,[2] Rajnagar had a population of 12,442. Males constitute 53% of the population and females 47%. Rajnagar has an average literacy rate of 55%, lower than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 63%, and female literacy is 46%. In Rajnagar, 18% of the population is under 6 years of age.

Most of the people in Rajnagar are based on daily basis earning (60%).

Rajnagar is ruined by Congress and BJP parties and comes under Bundelkhand area which is drought and poor.
