Ramapuram is a suburb of Chennai, India. It is situated on the Mount-Poonamallee Road at a distance of 3 kilometres from Guindy. Ramapuram forms a part of Kanchipuram district.
Ramapuram is one of the fastest developing suburbs of Chennai and is known for its IT Parks.

The former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Dr. M.G.Ramachandran's residence was in Ramavaram. The place known as "MGR Gardens" now houses a school for the deaf and dumb children.
Ramavaram is also famous for the Lakshmi Narasimha Perumal Temple (Lakshmi Narasimhan idol is approximately 2000 years old). Ramavaram is in the out-skirts of chennai, which seems to be pollution less with no water problem. It is surrounded with big hospitals like MIOT, SRM & Rakshit hospital. This place has many nationalised banks & ATM centers (like Bank of Baroda, UTI, ICICI & SBI). Contus Support Interactive Pvt. Ltd, L&T Infotech, DLF IT PARK is located in Ramapuram, the coolest place to be for an IT-Professional.For education Ramapuram has SRM UNIVERSITY which is a popular Indian University.It offers bachelors and masters degree in Engineering Technology,Dentistry,Management,etc. SRM EASWARI Engineering college is also located in this campus,which is affilated to Anna University,Chennai.

As of 2001[update] India census,[1] Ramavaram had a population of 35,251. Males constitute 47% of the population and females 53%. Ramavaram has an average literacy rate of 71%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 82%, and female literacy is 61%. In Ramavaram, 11% of the population is under 6 years of age.
