Randolph (Randy) Lalonde is a contemporary Canadian author of science fiction and fantasy.

Randolph Lalonde currently resides in Sudbury, Ontario, a mining town considered to be a gateway to the northern area of the province. His debut published works, the First Light trilogy, were released individually, then compiled into an Omnibus edition in the same year. 2008 was a prolific year for Lalonde, as he had seven other works put into print as well, ranging in length from 120 to 316 pages.
Being a supporter of independent production, Lalonde has not only self-published all his works to date, but has also become an early adopter of the latest innovations in digital publishing. Many of his stories are available as downloadable PDF files, in Mobipocket compatible format (a subsidiary of Amazon.com on which Lalonde managed to hold the top 3 spots for best sellers at one point), and most recently on Amazon.com's new Kindle e-reader device.
As of February 11, 2009, the Spinward Fringe series reached 1400 sales. Says Lalonde of this achievement "I know, in the publishing world selling fourteen hundred books doesn't count for much at all, but as an independent author with no advertising budget it's a real big milestone."[1] For those who wish to sample Lalonde's work, his debut novella Freeground, of the First Light trilogy, is currently available as a free download from his website.
Hobbies include playing World of Warcraft (which has suffered lately due to a grueling writing schedule).
