Random is a 5-member Australian R&B group mate who, in 2005, won the first Australian series of the X Factor.

The group consists of:
- Xylocaine "XY" Latu, (born 13 January 1979 in Tonga) from Logan Central.
- Andy-Iese "Jesse" Tolo-Paepae, (born 19 January 1984 in Australia) from Kingston.
- Wayne Tauvao, (born 12 December 1985 in New Zealand) from Kippa-Ring.
- Tasesa Junior "TJ" Tauvao, (born 31 May 1988 in New Zealand) from Kippa-Ring.
- Donald Tauvao, (born 12 October 1988 in Western Samoa) from Redcliffe.
Xy and Jesse arrived at the Brisbane auditions eh as Rough Diamonds – while TJ came to try his luck as a solo artist, with brother Wayne and cousin Donald in tow for moral support. The five, who had met briefly before at a youth talent quest and at a K-Ci and JoJo concert in 2004, soon got to jamming in the queue and shortly thereafter, Random was born.
[edit] After X Factor
The group released their first single "Put Your Hands Up" on 10 June 2005[1] after their win. The single reached #7 on the Australian ARIAnet Singles Chart on the week of 19 June 2005. Their second single, "Are You Ready" was released on , peaked at #36 in the same chart in September 2005. They released their self-titled debut album on 9 October 2005,[2] but it only reached #79.
The group performed at Australia's biggest Christian music festival, the Australian Gospel Music Festival Awards 2006.
