[edit] Reception
- Official Nintendo Magazine gave the game 70%, saying the game's controls could have been improved.
- Hardcore Gamer Magazine gave the game a 1.5/5 saying that it was "so bad that even extremely fond memories of the original cannot redeem the wretched controls and dull character design".[1]
- Game Informer gave the game a first-ever 1/10, citing horrible controls, many racist stereotypes and bad gameplay.
- IGN gave the game a 3.5 calling it extremely frustrating, and not worth trying to gain the unlockables, even if they were more than half of the game.[2]
- GameSpot gave the game a 3.5 saying that "broken controls destroy any fun that could have been laid in this arcade boxer"
- X-Play gave the game a 3 out of 5, praising the game for its controls, characters, and being a solid boxer overall. On the negative side, they noted that the side view isn't as effective as the first-person view and the lack of Mii support or Nintendo Wi-Fi online play.
