Redspot Sixt Rent a Car is a rental car company with its head office in Sydney, Australia. Redspot was founded by Dan Mekler in 1989. It has grown from 1 Sydney location to cover most locations in Australia. Redspot renamed its brand name in 2012 after becoming partners with Sixt rent a car in 2012 to Redspot Sixt.[1] Redspot & Sixt rent a car pushes outbound and inbound business to each other. Today Redspot has 21 locations throughout Australia located all over the country.[2] In 2002, Redspot Car Rentals acquired Australian Rent A Car and took possession of its national locations. Redspot is owned by Waterloo Car Centre Pty Ltd. In 2012 Redspot formed an strategic alliance with Sixt Rent A Car Germany, as its Australian car rental supplier. A rebranding exercise began in mid-2012 to a joint name cooperation of Redspot Sixt.
