This page is for requesting that a page, image or template be fully protected, create protected (salted), semi-protected, move-protected, or unprotected. Please read up on the protection policy. Full protection is used to stop edit warring between multiple users or to prevent vandalism to high-risk templates; semi-protection is usually used only to prevent IP and new user vandalism (see the rough guide to semi-protection); and move protection is used to stop pagemove revert wars. After a page has been protected, the protection is listed in the page history and logs with a short description indicating why it was protected, and the article is listed on Special:Protectedpages. Further discussion should take place on the Talk page of the article. In the case of full protection due to edit warring, admins do not revert back to specific versions of the page, except to get rid of obvious vandalism.
If you would like to request a page to be protected or unprotected, please follow the following steps:
===={{la|Example Article Name}}====
'''Semi-protection:''' High level of IP vandalism. ~~~~
===={{lt|Example Template Name}}====
'''Temporary semi-protection:''' High level of IP vandalism. ~~~~

[edit] Royal Rumble (edit|talk|history|links|watch|logs)
Indefinite semi-protection: Persistent vandalism – For some reason, the bot keeps undoing the page protection...which leads to a floodgate of anonymous vandalisms. Can we please do something to ensure the page protection stays? This page is getting out of control. BarryTheUnicorn (talk) 21:05, 27 January 2012 (UTC)

[edit] New York City Subway rolling stock (edit|talk|history|links|watch|logs)
Indefinite semi-protection: Over the last six months there have been mostly unsourced additions from IPs and unconfirmed new editors. There is no reason this page should no longer be unprotected. The ease of adding unsourced information attracts these editors to vandalize this page. Acps110 (talk • contribs) 02:40, 27 January 2012 (UTC)
[edit] Yggdrasil (edit|talk|history|links|watch|logs)
Temporary semi-protection: Persistent sockpuppetry – A blocked IP (on Deutsche Telekom) persisting in editwarring on several articles, promoting a website, probably selfmade. Has never used a talk page or edit summaries. Saddhiyama (talk) 20:42, 26 January 2012 (UTC)
[edit] Tirumala Venkateswara Temple (edit|talk|history|links|watch|logs)

[edit] Tiger versus lion (edit|talk|history|links|watch|logs)
Semi-protection: Requesting for protection, for an article which is constantly having high-traffic edits by Ip Users, and Wikipedia Users which are not established. New and recent edits are mostly poorly sourced, and lack credibility. And a lot of reverting and edit-wars happening based on the history of the page, the article has just recently been removed from semi-protection, thus i am requesting for a longer duration of the semi-protection of the page. Thank you. User:Brazilian Tiger | Talk 02:26, 27 January 2012 (UTC)
[edit] User:Dipankan001 (edit|talk|history|links|watch|logs)

Semi-protected for a period of 1 week. After 1 week the page will be automatically unprotected. Materialscientist (talk) 14:48, 27 January 2012 (UTC)
[edit] Current requests for unprotection
If you simply want to make spelling corrections or add information to a protected page that is not disputed, and you are not involved in any disputes there, consider simply adding {{Editprotected}} to the article's talk page, along with an explanation of what you want to add to the page. See the list of current {{Editprotected}} requests.
If you want an existing page unprotected, please try to ask the protecting admin first before making a request here.
Check here if you cannot find your request. Only recently answered requests are still listed here.
[edit] Habbo Hotel (edit|talk|history|links|watch|logs)
Unprotection: I don't think this is a high priority to lock anymore, but if it is, can someone please add Category:Unprintworthy redirects and Category:Redirects from alternative names? Thanks. —Justin (koavf)❤T☮C☺M☯ 19:05, 26 January 2012 (UTC)
- I don't know why this redirect was protected, so I'll not action your request; I have, however, added the two categories you mention. Salvio Let's talk about it! 11:48, 27 January 2012 (UTC)
The title Doctor page should be unprotected. It is not currently a true representation of doctoring professions, and it is criminal to censor other doctoring professions from adding their name to the list. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.176.201.50 (talk) 19:39, 27 January 2012 (UTC)
[edit] Current requests for edits to a protected page
- Ideally requests should be made on the article talk page rather than here
- Unless the talk page itself is protected, you may instead add {{Editprotected}}, {{Editsemiprotected}} or {{Request edit}} to the article's talk page if you would like to make a change rather than requesting it here.
- If the discussion page and the article are both locked, this project page is the right place to request an edit. If you can, please use the {{la|article name}} template to describe the article you wish changed at the start of your request.

Semi-protected for a period of 5 months. After 5 months the page will be automatically unprotected. Materialscientist (talk) 04:04, 27 January 2012 (UTC)
There have been plenty of constructive edits over the past few weeks and none of them have been vandalism. Your list is biased, censored, and an untrue representation of doctoring professions. If you want biased propaganda then keep the list the way it is. If you would like for this encyclopedia to be an accurate representation then it needs to be changed. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.176.201.50 (talk) 19:46, 27 January 2012 (UTC)
