A residential intervention, in social work, occurs when a client voluntarily or involuntarily undertakes a planned change intervention in a setting provided by a social service organisation. Typically the intervention involves live-in accommodation. Residential interventions aim to provide a safe and secure environment in which positive change is facilitated to overcome addictions or other psychological or physical problems.
