The painted wood turtle[2] or ornate wood turtle (Rhinoclemmys pulcherrima) is a turtle species of the genus Rhinoclemmys in the family Geoemydidae. It is found in Mexico (from Sonora southwards) and Central America, down to Costa Rica.[3] There are four recognized subspecies.[4]
