RioCan Real Estate Investment Trust (TSXREI.UN) is the largest real estate investment trust (REIT) in Canada with ownership interests in over 200 retail properties.[2] The trust invests primarily in supermarket and junior department store-anchored, neighborhood, convenience-oriented shopping centers. The company properties are located across Canada, as well as recent acquisitions in the U.S. northeast[3] and Texas.[4] The current chief executive officer is Edward Sonshine.[5]
