River City Centre is a type of a "big box" shopping centre or power centre in the north industrial area of Saskatoon. Some of the anchors are Sport Mart,[1] Sears Home,[2] Scott's Parable Christian Stores,[3] Dollarama,[4] and Staples Business Depot.[5] A Giant Tiger store opened in the former Winners location.[citation needed]
It was the first development of its kind in Saskatoon, and was followed within a few years by more clearly defined "big box" developments in the city.[citation needed]
