Career[edit]

Since 1970, Hall has worked with grassroots groups across the US South. He has worked on the topic of voting rights and campaign finance reform. Hall was the founding editor of Southern Exposure for 25 years[1] where he published books and articles on contemporary Southern culture.[2]

Personal[edit]

He obtained his MA from Columbia University.[1]

Hall has won a number of awards which include:

  • NC Press Association’s First Amendment Award
  • NC AARP’s Advocacy Friend of the Year Award
  • NC NAACP’s Political Trailblazer Award[1]
