Robert Vincent Remini (born July 17, 1921) is a historian and a professor emeritus at the University of Illinois at Chicago. He is the author of numerous works about President Andrew Jackson and the Jacksonian Era.

He received his B.S. from Fordham University in 1943 and his M.A. and Ph.D. from Columbia University (1947 and 1951, respectively). He is professor of history emeritus and research professor of humanities emeritus at the University of Illinois at Chicago. He won the National Book Award for the third volume of his study of Andrew Jackson, and he has also written biographies of Henry Clay, John Quincy Adams, Martin van Buren, Joseph Smith and Daniel Webster.

On April 28, 2005, Remini was appointed the Historian of the United States House of Representatives.

His most recent work is At the Edge of the Precipice: Henry Clay and the Compromise that Saved the Union (2010).
