[edit] On Hannah Montana

The song was first heard in the second season episode "Bye Bye Ball" in which Hannah performs the song at an Italian restaurant along with Joey Vitolo (Joey Fatone).[2]

The song is later heard in the episode "(We're So Sorry) Uncle Earl" in which Miley Stewart's Uncle Earl (David Koechner) fulfills his life long dream of becoming a rock star after performing the song on stage with Hannah. Earl includes a dramatic guitar solo which wins the praise of music critic Barney Bittman (Gilbert Godfried). Bittman describes the song as "pure, old school, kick butt rock and roll – the way it should be."[3]

In "Ready, Set, Don't Drive" Miley listens to the song in her car on the way to Ashley's party and improvises the lyrics. The song distracts her from turning off her turn signal which leads to her arrest by Officer Diaria.[4]

The song is later heard again in the episode "Judge Me Tender", performed by Jackson during American's Top Talent.[5]

The song is then performed by Hannah Montana in Hannah Montana: The Movie during the scene, "The Reveal", but stops mid-song when she sees Travis emerge from the crowd.[6]

[edit] Legal action

The band Lustra is considering taking legal action claiming that the guitar riff in this song is directly plagiarized from their song "Scotty Doesn't Know," which is featured in the film EuroTrip.[8]
