Rockwood (formerly, Alberta)[2] is an unincorporated community in Imperial County, California.[1] It is located on the Southern Pacific Railroad 5.25 miles (8.4 km) south of Calipatria,[2] at an elevation of 154 feet (47 m) below sea level.[1]
The name Rockwood honors Charles R. Rockwood, irrigation promoter.[2] The Alberta post office operated from 1910 to 1914.[2]
