Roland Dupree Dance Academy

Roland Dupree had a major dance center in Hollywood on [[third Street just west of Crescent Heights on the North Side of the Street. It drew interested dancers from around the world to study there because a lot of the teachers worked in the television, stage, and film industry. Joe Bennett, Carol Connor, Jacqui and Bill Landrum, Joe Tremaine, Hama, and countless other teachers springboarded their successful dance academies from Dupree Dance Academy. Roland partnered with Mary Jean Valente to open Dupree Casting the first Casting Service to specialize in Casting Dancers in Movies, Television and Commercial Print Media. As Director of Dupree Casting Mary Jean Valente brought Directors, Producers and Production Companies together with trained dancers to eliminate the cattle call in dance auditioning. Roland Dupree sold his business in the mid 1980s and has since been hosting dance conventions around the country with Dupree Dance Expo.It is now know as a child acting facility known as Youth Acadamey of Dramatic Arts (YADA)
