[edit] Structure
Usually the roof deck acts as a unifying structural diaphragm by tying all the structural components together.
[edit] Types
There are many types of roof decks: Architectural Roof Pavers, plywood or OSB sheathing, wood tongue and groove, corrugated metal, grancrete encapsulated polystyrene, reinforced concrete, and double tee.
[edit] Roof gardens
Roof decks are used as roof patio gardens and roof gardens when engineered for the static and dynamic weight loads. The exposure to stronger sun and wind creates challenges for plants and opportunities for design.
