[edit] Route description
Route 50 begins at the Garden State Parkway in Upper Township. As it enters Ocean View, it intersects with US 9 as it proceeds north-northwest. The route enters Greenfield, and crosses a minor river. It passes directly through Middletown and it intersects with Route 49, just prior to turning almost due north, and gradually turning to the northwest again. It becomes concurrent with County Route 557 as it passes to the east of the MacNamara Wildlife Area. From here, it heads due north, parallel to the Estell Manor Park. As the route enters Belcoville, it becomes concurrent with US 40, and becomes known as the Harding Highway. The route then becomes concurrent with County Route 559, and becomes known as Cape May Avenue. The concurrency ends, and Route 50 heads north into Clover Leaf Lakes, where it crosses US 322. It then terminates at US 30/CR 563 in Egg Harbor City.[2]
