Sánchez Ramírez (Spanish pronunciation: [ˈsantʃeθ ɾaˈmiɾeθ]) is a province of the Dominican Republic. It was split from Duarte in 1952, and is named for Brigadier Juan Sánchez Ramírez, hero of the battle of Palo Hincado (1808) at which Spanish rebels defeated the occupying French forces.
