Sam Hollander (S*A*M) is an American songwriter and record producer. He has written and/or produced hits for the likes of Train, Boys Like Girls, Gym Class Heroes, Good Charlotte, Carole King, Neon Trees, Cobra Starship, 3OH!3, Coheed and Cambria,[1] All Time Low, Metro Station,[2] We The Kings, O.A.R., Uncle Kracker, Sugar Ray, Tom Jones,[3][4] David Cook, Big Time Rush, Chiddy Bang, Kelly Rowland, Arrested Development, Hollywood Undead, and Mike Posner among others.

[edit] Early years
Hollander was born in New York City, and grew up in Bedford Hills, New York. He graduated from Fox Lane High School in 1988. After high school, he moved to New York City where as part of the duo, Pop Rox, cut his teeth remixing hits for the likes of DMX, Method Man, Montell Jordan, and Master P. From there, Pop Rox wrote and produced international hits for the likes of Carole King,[14] The Baha Men, Static Revenger and The Cooler Kids. Hollander parted ways with Pop Rox in 2004.

Hollander is one half of the songwriting/production team S*A*M & SLUGGO (Dave Katz); together, they have written and/or produced 18 US Top 40 Pop Hits, and were named the 2008 Rolling Stone Hot List Producers of the Year.[5]
S*A*M & SLUGGO first worked together on the title track for the film Snakes on a Plane (New Line Cinema) performed by Cobra Starship. "Snakes On A Plane" went to #1 on both Fuse and MTV playlists.
