SAS Masters Tour
The SAS Masters Tour, (formerly the Telia Tour) is a domestic professional golf tour operated by the Swedish Golf Association. There are separate tours for men and women. The tour is designed to help Swedish golfers to reach the standard of play needed to qualify for the European Tour, Challenge Tour or Ladies European Tour (LET).
Men's SAS Masters Tour
In 2008 the men's tour consisted of fifteen events. The richest event was the SEK 1,328,600 Dubliner Challenge, which is co-sanctioned with the Challenge Tour, the official developmental tour operated by the PGA European Tour. The other events had purses ranging from SEK 300,000 to SEK 500,000. Most of the events are played over 54 holes.
Men's SAS Masters Tour events carry points in the Nordic League competition, which is one of four European Tour recognised third tier tours, and is run in collaboration by the national golf associations of Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden.
Women's SAS Masters Tour
In 2008 the women's tour consisted of twelve events with prize funds of SEK 300,000. In 2005 it became the first official feeder tour for the LET. The top two players from the top five on the Women's SAS Masters Tour ranking that do not already have exempt status on the LET qualify for the membership of the LET for the following season, and the remainder of the top ten players on the SAS Masters Tour are exempted into the final stage of the LET Qualifying School.
