SMK Jitra

SMK Jitra or officially Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Jitra, is a Malaysian public secondary school in the township of Jitra, Kedah Darul Aman. SMK Jitra has a few students in the Malaysian Certificate of Education (Malay:Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia). Students of SMK Jitra are known as SEMENTRANS.

Their vision is SMK Jitra cemerlang peringkat antarabangsa peringkat 2015. While their missions are, mewujudkan pendidikan cemerlang bertaraf dunia bagi melahirkan generasi perkasa melalui budaya kerja yang berkualiti dan berteraskan falsafah pendidikan kebangsaan.

It is one of Malaysia's smart schools. In 2005, it won the Anugerah Kualiti Menteri Pelajaran for the secondary school category.

SMK Jitra also provides those form six students in Kedah to further their study. In science subjects and also Malay Literature.

SMK Jitra had won Piala Dato' Shukor Malay Debate Championship in 2006 defeating SMK Teknik Setapak. The school was champion of the national bahasa Melayu Debate Competition for 2006 and the first runner-up for 2007.

In 2007, SMK Jitra again represented Kedah to the national level but only managed to be the first runner-up. The final match was between SMK Jitra and SMK Serdang.

On 12 March 2009, the results for SPM candidates are announced. Four students achieve straight A1 in every subjects taken and sixteen students achieve all A's.

On 2009, SMK Jitra now in known as Sekolah Kluster Kecemerlangan (fasa 3) and lots of more competitions that was won by this school.

On the year 2011, the amazing batch of form 3 students has created their own history by breaking the school's record of 150 students scoring straight A's for the Penilaian Menengah Rendah 2011.

On 2012, the excellent batch of form 5 students broke the school's history by achieving a record of 45 straight A's students with 4 of them scoring straight A+.

The year 2013, is a glorious year for SEMENTRANS.

Malay Debate Team. They manage to won the district-level Malay Parliamentary Debate. Also, they managed to get into the finals of the state-level of the debate but they were placed second next to SMK Sungai Kob, Kulim. Their team was led by Madam Salma Hashim with Muhammad Amirul Faiz Zulkifli as the first speaker, Nur Atikah Binti Abdul Hamid as the second speaker and Aireen Syahirah as the third speaker. Their fourth and fifth speakers are Muhammad Hisyam and Muhammad Amirul Husni. The second team was as equal as the main team consisting of capable juniors.

Malay Public Speaking. After ten years of drought, SMK Jitra's orator, Nur Atikah Binti Abdul Hamid championed the Kubang Pasu district level of Malay Public Speaking.

English Choral Speaking Team. After for seems like a very long time, SMK JITRA's choral speaking team finally managed to grab the title as the Kubang Pasu district-level champion. The choral speaking team was conducted by Dhanassree d/o Loganathan under the supervision of Madam Hajar Zainal Abidin.

English Debate Team. The team walks their own history by winning the Kubang Pasu District-level by beating SMK Paya Kemunting. Their glorious achievement continued when they championed the Kedah State-level by beating the all-boy debate team of Kolej Sultan Abdul Hamid. They beat SMK Ibrahim, the traditional winning team of Kedah in the semi-final round. The team is an all-girl team with Nurin Alia and Fathin Delila as the first speakers, Fathy Anuar as the second speaker and Hanan Khaleeda as the third speaker and with Khairunnisa Asyiqin as the reserved speaker and a researcher. For the record, Hanan Khaleeda was the best speaker for both district and state level.
