SS&C Technologies Inc. (commonly referred to as SS&C) is a specialized software provider to the global financial services industry. SS&C has more than 4,000 employees worldwide, operating throughout North America, Europe, Asia Pacific, and Australia.

With a focus on fund administration software and services for hedge funds, fund of funds, private equity and alternative investment funds, its clients have $424 billion in assets under administration.[1] In addition to middle- and back-office accounting and outsourcing services, it also delivers processing for information management, analysis, trading, accounting, reporting and compliance.[citation needed]

SS&C claims over 5,000 clients, who, in aggregate, manage over $26 trillion in assets. Clientele includes investment managers, banks, insurance companies, pension funds, commercial lenders, broker/dealers, property managers and financial exchanges.[citation needed]

SS&C was founded in 1986 by William C. Stone and went public in 1996. In 2005 the company was acquired by entities affiliated with The Carlyle Group and was taken private. SS&C again became a public company in 2010, and trades on the NASDAQ under the ticker SSNC. Mr. Stone has been the company's CEO and Chairman of the Board since inception.

Since 1995, SS&C has acquired 36 businesses with products, services and/or technologies in existing or complementary vertical markets.
