STAR Sports 1 is a sports channel owned by Star Sports network which shows only cricket for 24 hours. STAR sports India re-branded and unified its channels with a brand new logo which came into effect from 5 November 2013 midnight onwards. By effect of that rebranding exercise STAR Sports became STAR Sports 1, STAR Cricket to STAR Sports 3, ESPN India to STAR Sports 4, STAR Cricket HD to STAR Sports HD1, and ESPN HD to STAR Sports HD2. The rebranding was irrelevant though as barring STAR Sports 4 and STAR Sports HD2, the remaining four channels turned into 24-hour cricket channels. Many people believe that the rebranding should have been done as Star Cricket 1.[1]
