SWIFT software

SWIFT is a health and social care software solution produced by Anite in the UK. SWIFT is primarily aimed at social services departments within local government to aid the statutory recording of health and social care needs of individuals. Data is recorded using the Oracle database system. Various additional modules are available dependent on the needs of individual authorities. This is a specialist product that is not available to the general public.

In 2003 Mobile Working was added to Swift. This module enabled Social Workers to carry out mobile assessments using a TabletPC or PocketPC.

It has a reputation amongst users as being subjective in it's quality and practicality.

It also has been commented on as impossible to know and understand. Amongst it's users it has yielded the highest number of refresher courses known to another computer application.

It has been discribed us the ultimate in counter intuatey. Local authority budgets will reflect their highly unusual high training costs in bringing this application to it's staff.
